Robotics Simulation Engineer (Visual Components) (m/f/d)

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Munich

About the role

As a Robotic Simulation Engineer, you will focus on designing, simulating, and optimizing robotic workcells and production lines using Visual Components and other advanced simulation tools. You will work closely with mechanical and control engineers to validate system behavior, optimize cycle times, and integrate simulation insights into real-world applications

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop high-fidelity robotic cell simulations using Visual Components, ensuring optimized layouts, collision-free paths, and efficient process flows
  • Model industrial manipulators, mobile robots, and automated material handling systems, considering real-world constraints like sensor feedback and kinematics
  • Implement discrete event simulations to analyze bottlenecks, takt times, and process efficiencies in automated production systems.
  • Optimize multi-robot coordination strategies, considering workload balancing, synchronization, and safety constraints.
  • Engage closely with mechanical and design teams to refine robotic systems based on simulation insights
  • Implement inverse kinematics (IK) and trajectory generation algorithms tailored for robotic manipulators and mobile platforms.
  • Develop scripts to enhance the functionality of robotic simulations, enabling custom behaviors, sensor integration, and advanced analytics.
  • Present detailed simulation outcomes both internally and to external stakeholders
  • Conduct testing and integration of new control algorithms to improve robotic functionalities
  • Implement algorithms that enable effective interaction between simulated environments and real-world applications
Essential Skills
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Proficient in process simulations using Visual Components
  • Strong knowledge of robotics kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, and control theory.
  • Strong foundation in various robotics domains, including manipulators and mobile robotics
  • Skilled in simulation-related programming languages including Python/C++/C#
  • Understanding of industrial automation protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.).
Beneficial Skills
  • Proficient in physics simulations using tools such as MuJoCo, Isaac Sim
  • Experience in Unity development
  • Experience with augmented and virtual reality technologies
  • Proficiency in German is advantageous
Applicants are encouraged to include links to their GitHub repositories or YouTube channels to showcase relevant projects or simulations.
