Robotics Control & Planning Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Our team develops the software framework that underpins our high-precision, high-reliability industrial applications. We take on projects, designing and building tailored software stacks that not only meet specific requirements but also prioritize generalizable, scalable solutions for future use. Our work demands a strong grasp of cutting-edge research, hands-on experimentation, and seamless integration of third-party components. We tackle complex, real-world challenges through innovative approaches and maintain a focus on rapid deployment and adaptability in dynamic, unpredictable environments. 
Your Responsibilities
  • Design and implement software components, architectures and applications for model-based real-time robotics control systems
  • Basic Knowledge in Optimal Control, Motion Planning and Optimization field
  • Design and implement framework that enables controllable grasp planning of known and unknown objects using various types of grippers, motion planning in dynamic scenes and task planning.
  • Develop applications with diverse and evolving robots and sensors, especially tactile sensor.
  • Participate in our agile Scrum process
  • Review and maintain our software stack
  • Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements
Essential Skills
  • ~ 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in C++, Cmake, Python, shell/bash, Git. (C# is a plus!)
  • Strong robotics background 
  • Post-graduate degree in robotics, computer science, electrical/mechanical engineering or similar
  • Very good English and Chinese language skills
  • Availability to mainly work on site at our headquarters in Munich
  • Willingness to travel on business trips to China
  • You're a teamplayer and love to share your knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to learn
Beneficial Skills
  • Experience with path planners (RRT flavors, Stomp, … etc) and modern implementations (ex: moveit2, Drake, KOMO … etc)
  • Experience with modern simulation environments
  • Proficiency in robotics control systems
  • Proficiency in hardware abstraction, motion control and planning
  • Experience with analyzing robot reachability, geometry representations and simplifications
  • Teaching methods for robots
