Project Buyer (m/f/d)

About the role
We are looking for a Project Buyer to manage procurement activities for robotics and automation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing components and materials while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. This role requires collaboration with suppliers, engineers, and project teams to support production and innovation in robotic systems.
Your Responsibilities
  • Sourcing & Procurement:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for components, materials, and services for prototyping and production projects.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to add value to the Agile Supply Chain.
    • Develop long-term relationships with key suppliers and manage supplier performance.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to align procurement with project timelines.
    • Ensure the availability of critical parts and materials to prevent production delays.
    • Manage procurement risks and implement contingency plans when needed.
  • Cost Management & Optimization:
    • Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Monitor and control procurement budgets for associated projects.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce costs without compromising quality or innovation.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Ensure all purchased components meet technical specifications and quality standards.
    • Work with the quality assurance team to resolve supplier issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve supply chain efficiency.
    • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on performance metrics.
    • Support the implementation of supplier development programs to enhance reliability.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in robotics, automation, or manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Technical knowledge of component manufacturing, automation systems, and industrial machinery is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferable. (SAP).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Hands on, proactive and empathic in a growing business environment.
