We are looking for a passionate Forward Deployed Engineer for Robotics to bridge cutting-edge robotics technology with real-world customer success. In this role, you will work directly with international customers to deploy, customize, and optimize advanced robotic automation solutions. You will become a trusted technical partner, translating customer challenges into scalable, production-ready robotics applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deploy, integrate, and commission complex robotic systems for industrial automation and mobile manipulation applications
  • Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust software solutions
  • Customize and extend our robotic workcell automation framework by implementing customer-specific features, integrations, and workflows
  • Collaborate with AI, Computer Vision, and Robotics Engineers to deliver production-ready solutions
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system integration issues both remotely and on-site
  • Travel to international customer sites for workshops, deployments, training, and technical support (up to 40% travel)

Essential Skills

  • Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of four years of professional experience
  • Experience with robotic hardware (robot arms, cameras, AGVs, grippers, sensors, or similar)
  • Intermediate programming skills in C++
  • Practical experience integrating and programming robotic applications
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly in customer environments
  • Fluency in English

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), modern AI models (e.g., SAM, YOLO, GraspNET), or Vision-Language(-Action) models
  • Knowledge of control theory for robotics
  • Experience with computer vision (e.g., OpenCV, PCL)
  • Experience deploying and optimizing robotics applications on NVIDIA embedded platforms (e.g., Jetson Orin, AGX, Xavier)
  • Programming experience in Python
  • Familiarity with PLC programming
  • Practical experience with CAD software
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, CAN, OPC UA, Modbus)
  • Knowledge of functional safety norms
